Our Purpose, Our People

What is Creolitos™?

Creolitos™ is a Spanish-first, story-based language program that serves both families and institutions through immersive, culturally grounded experiences.

For families, Creolitos™ creates joyful, interactive spaces where children and caregivers build Spanish naturally through books, music, movement, and play.

For institutions, including schools, districts, museums, and cultural organizations, Creolitos™ delivers culturally responsive programming that supports language development while strengthening identity and engagement.

At the core of all offerings is a simple idea:

Children don’t learn language through memorization, they learn it through meaningful, lived experiences.

Ms. María

Maria Lasso

Founder & Lead Educator, Creolitos™

María is a Colorado Licensed Teacher and native Spanish speaker with over 8 years of experience teaching multilingual learners in K–8 classrooms. She holds:

  • A Bachelor’s in Philosophy & Education
  • A Master’s in Children’s Literature & Reading

Through her work, María identified two critical gaps:

Families. especially immigrant and second and third-generation households, wanted to preserve their language and heritage, but lacked the tools and support to do it. At the same time, schools and institutions were serving multilingual learners without culturally grounded approaches that truly engage students or sustain language development. Creolitos™ was created to bridge both gaps—through story-driven, immersive experiences that connect language, culture, and identity in lasting ways.

Our Educational Experiences

For Families

You don't want your child to just learn Spanish; you want them to live it.

A multi-day immersive experience built on the Fiesta Methodology™. Children explore a book or theme through:

  • Theatrical storytelling
  • Dramatic play
  • Art, music, and cultural activities

Language is reinforced through repetition, variation, and full-body engagement; accelerating comprehension and confidence. This is where Spanish shifts from something children hear… to something they experience.

Students participate more readily when language feels joyful, embodied, and culturally relevant.

Stronger Comprehension

Context, repetition, and performance help learners make meaning and retain language longer.

Deeper Belonging
